Products that have enhanced my life and promote non-toxic living…

Since we’re in the middle of a pandemic, and we’re home most of the time, I thought I’d share a few products that bring me joy every day!

*I am not trying to sell these products to you. These are simply products that I enjoy and promote overall well being.

  1. Young Living Essential Oils

I have been using Young Living essential oils for over 15 years. These oils promote physical, emotional and spiritual wellness! Here are a few ways that I use them:

Instead of perfume, I use their Joy oil! It promotes happiness and has a beautiful floral scent.

To disinfect my home and office, I diffuse Thieves, Lemon, or Purification oil. I also put a few drops in a bucket for cleaning the floors or disinfecting my daughter’s toys.  It is comforting to know that my daughter is not being exposed to toxic chemicals.

For a pick me up or a stomach ache, I use Peppermint oil by putting a few drops on my tongue or rubbing it on my stomach. When we take long car rides, I put a few drops of peppermint on a cotton ball in our vehicle to keep us alert and to ease my daughter’s car sickness.

In order to relax or meditate, I diffuse Frankincense, Lavender, Stress Away, or Peace and Calming. Being in touch with our senses heightens our frequencies and keeps us grounded.

I make my own bath salts. My favorite combination has been for sore muscles: peppermint, wintergreen, and Panaway. Awe, it is nice to know that I can heal myself in the comfort of my own home.

2.Tea

The Loose Leaf Tea Company is one of my favorites. They’re based out of southern California. I first discovered them at a Farmer’s Market in Carlsbad, CA (My favorite city in California). I was sold after trying their detox and weight loss teas. My new favorites are: Stress Relief, Immuni-tea, Jazmine, and Lemon Ginger Mint. These teas have helped me in so many ways. Any time I have a stomach ache or a sniffle, they have taken away the ailment. Having tea ready and made in my refrigerator helps with my evening cravings! Thankfully, they ship to anywhere in the US, so I always have these stocked! They also have packages that make for perfect samplings or gifts!

3. Norwex cloths for cleaning

Using non-toxic products and saving our planet means everything to me! These cloths have lowered my household waste and made cleaning so easy! Several years ago, a friend gave me a household package, and they changed the way I cleaned forever!! All I have to do is get the cloths wet, and they remove 99% of bacteria from surfaces. When my daughter started eating solid foods, I used their Envirocloth to wipe her highchair and their kids body cloths to wipe her hands and face. It was a relief to know that I wasn’t exposing her to chemicals, and I could simply wet a rag to clean major messes! I still use these cloths on her almost 3 years later. In order to deep clean them, I throw all of my Norwex cloths and towels into the washing machine with a free and clear detergent.

What are some products that you love? The oils and the teas make me feel like I have a spa-like atmosphere in my own home! For me, it’s all about the simple joys in life and moments of calm throughout the day especially with a toddler in the house!

May you be well, and live a life you love!!

I’d love to hear from you about what products promote joy, calm, and toxic free living in your home. Comment below!!

Ways I’ve found balance and joy during this pandemic

Believe me, life has not been all sunshine and roses, but these 5 things have kept me balanced and grounded. They have helped me to focus on what I can control in a world where there are so many uncertainties...

1.       Setting a daily intention

Before I jump out of bed, I state intentions in my mind. They keep me grounded throughout the day. I can get easily distracted with a toddler in the house, so I always take a breath before switching activities and remind myself of what my intentions were. Our mind is the strongest muscle in our bodies.

Here are some examples: May today be simple and easy…May I be in each moment…May I spend quality time with my daughter…I am in perfect health…May I be blessed by quality time with my family and friends…May I be productive with my goals…I have all of the energy I need! I have all of the time I need. I love my life!

2.       Starting my day with yoga

Yin yoga is my favorite with long holding postures. I play the Pandora stations Spirit of Reiki or Chakra Healing Music Academy, light a candle, and focus on my breath and how I want my day to go.

3.       Being present with my family

Quality time is my love language! I feel blessed to have this time in history to truly just be with my family! Having a toddler in the house can be daunting, but it definitely keeps me grounded in the present moment. A few activities that we do regularly are: daily walks/tricycle rides to check the mail, playing games such as Jenga and memory, reading (our library allows us to place books on hold and pick them up), daily meditating (my husband signed up for a virtual meditation challenge), and creating art (coloring, painting, stamping, Playdoh). We use most of the art that we create to write and mail notes to our loved ones. It’s a win-win!! Sparking joy in others is so fun!!

4.       Scheduling Zoom and phone dates with my friends and family

I like scheduling time, so I can be fully present when I’m talking to my people. My newest favorite thing to do is to Zoom with a friend and craft at the same time. I love the company, the ability to be productive, and fostering my creativity! It has been a blessing to reconnect with near and far! We are all connected.

5.      Virtual Reiki and Hypnotherapy sessions

Trying to juggle the household responsibilities, raising a toddler, maintaining relationships, and working from home has been a lot! So, I schedule regular Reiki (a healing technique to restore mental and physical health) and hypnotherapy (personal guided meditations led by a hypnotherapist) sessions to reduce anxiety and stress. This has helped me tremendously! Having this on my schedule makes me happy knowing that I will have sacred time with a coach that will focus just on me! I have let go of stress and anxiety and been more motivated to do something for myself (meal prep, exercising, crafting, Zoom dates with my friends, reading, and building my life coaching business) every day!

Prepping for Success

il_570xN_337545232.jpg

Tomorrow marks the beginning of my thirteenth year in education! If you’re an educator, you know that these years fly by; and in this day and age, thirteen years in education is no small feat. Fortunately for me, helping others is my passion. I’m in my element when I see students and teachers growing and moving closer to their goals.

As a mentor and coach of teachers, it is critical that I am grounded so that I can be a source of light for them.  So, how do I set myself up for SUCCESS?

S-Seek out time for meditation each morning-Quieting the thoughts in my mind=an alert day.

U-Understand that everyone is on their own journey- I’m here as a source, but ultimately everyone has a right to choose their own actions and pathways for their own personal truths.

C-Create a meal schedule for dinners with my fiancé, so our nights are simple and planned for in advance.

C-Celebrate the positives by keeping a gratitude journal

E-Eat high vibrational foods!

  • Breakfast=a vegan protein shake with fruit and tea

  • Lunch=as many raw vegetables as possible with protein and a grain like brown rice or quinoa

  • Dinner=cooked veggies, protein and a grain

S-Schedule time to work out-The most successful people do this. For me, I enjoy yoga, Qi Gong, swimming, walking and lifting weights.

S-Schedule time for fun-This month I plan to host a game night, travel to Sedona, attend a concert, and go to a brunch with live music.

So, what’s your definition of success?  How do you give to yourself? Successful people create time for themselves before the “work” day starts and always pay themselves first.

Filling the Self-Love Tank with Quality Time

When does time not exist for you? For me it’s floating in a pool, swimming laps, engaging in deep conversations, dancing, reading, listening to music, doing yoga and meditating. How often do we really give ourselves time to simply be and to do the things we love? As of a recent coaching conversation with my life coach, Dulce, I discovered that I needed to schedule at least three hours a day for me. At first, I was shocked that I needed this much time for myself. How could I possibly need that much time? Is this selfish? Considering that my life purpose is to help others, I have now come to realize that it is what it is. This time makes me more grounded and ready for service.

On that note, how might you schedule more time for you this week? One thing that has worked for me was to write a list of all the things I love. Then, I used the list and scheduled time for one or more of the items each day. This technique has worked wonders for me when traveling and out of my routine.

See you on the journey!
